Pakistan, Worcestershire practice match called off

Pakistan, Worcestershire practice match called off

Pakistan's build-up to next week's third Test match against England at The Oval was again dogged by wet weather when their two-day match against Worcestershire was abandoned as a draw at New Road.
Heavy overnight rain sparked a busy mopping-up operation, with umpires Richard Kettleborough and Steven Malone carrying out an inspection at the scheduled 11am start time.
A decision was made to take an early lunch, with a further inspection being made at 12.30pm when a 1.10pm start was planned. However, another sharp downpour finally led to the match being called off at 2pm, with Mohammad Yousuf being left high and dry on 40 not out in the tourists' total of 112 for two off 28.1 overs.
The watery outcome was particularly frustrating for Yousuf, who is preparing to make his Test comeback at The Oval.
